SITUATION

Rodmell is a small and delightful picture postcard village. It is located three miles (4.8 km) south-west of Lewes on the Lewes to Newhaven Road and six and a half miles from the City of Brighton and Hove and is situated by the west banks of the River Ouse. Monk's House is located in the village, the home of the author Virginia Woolf for twenty-one years until her death in 1941.

There is an excellent family pub the Abergavenny Arms, St Peters Church, two allotment sites, a wonderful Vineyard (Breaky Bottom Vineyard) and many other activities.

Nearby Lewes is a thriving country town providing excellent recreational and cultural facilities. Lewes train station has a regular service to London Victoria (65 mins). Nearby are excellent state and private schools, including Lewes Grammar School, Brighton College, Roedean and Hurstpierpoint College.

The internationally renowned Glyndebourne Opera House is about 2.5 miles to the east, Royal Tunbridge Wells lies some 23 miles to the north, offering a range of shopping and amenities .The South Downs National Park provides wonderful country walks.
